Our school’s Summer Program has begun! This year, in step with the Kansai Expo, our Summer Program theme is “Anchor Kids Expo”. Students learn about the countries which are participating in the 2025 Kansai Expo’s National Day each day.

In the first week of our Summer Program, we learned about some countries that we were not very familiar with, but we listened to their national anthem and looked at photos taken in those countries. On Mauritius day, the children made a snorkel and pretended they were swimming in the sea around Mauritius. They also made a “dodo bird”.

On Equatorial Guinea day, they looked at postage stamps from Equatorial Guinea and made very colorful African masks. On Zimbabwe day, they made the Shona tribe’s special house and played the musical instrument called “kalimba”. On Malta day, they learned about knights and made a medieval helmet and shield.

Lastly, on America day, the older students cooked hamburgers from the scratch, and the younger students cooked “corn dogs”  (アメリカンドッグ). They enjoyed this week’s activities a lot!
