Because most elementary school and yochien students were on spring break, many new friends joined our AKIS Spring Program this week.
We continued to learn about Greek mythology. We focused on “Pandora’s Box” during the first three days, then the last two days we watched “Hercules” and we made a Greek warrior’s helmet and Cerberus (the three-headed dog-like animal).

Surprisingly, most of the elder students could memorize all 13 Greek gods and goddesses by singing their favorite song!
Everyone also learned some Greek mythology. When they made Cerberus, they could understand it was the “Guard of the Underworld” and it “worked for Hades”.
Everyone made their own Pandora’s Box and put some “evil” in it. But they put in the “hope butterfly”, too!
Our students are a little young to understand the true meaning of Pandora’s Box, but we hope that someday when they become interested in Greek mythology, they remember they made the box at AKIS.
