Our students have been enjoying looking for bugs at the park and keeping some of them at school. The Dolphin Class found some roly-polies at the park and brought them back to school.

We learned that when a walking roly-poly makes several turns in a row, it has the habit of alternating turns: first it turns to the right, then left, then right again, and so on. So then the students made such a maze for a roly-poly to walk through.

Then they found that the roly-polies which they had found were not actually roly-polies, so we went back to the park again to look for real roly-polies! Every boy and girl was able to touch these bugs in order to examine them very carefully!
