Because the air had gotten colder at the beginning of the week, we decided to learn about the “signs of autumn”. First we read a book about autumn and then we went outside to look for colorful leaves and other signs of autumn. The students found many colored leaves. We made a collage with them and with acorns which we had picked up during our last tabiiku. The children made a beautiful collage. They also made an acorn maze with cardboard boxes, and Whale class students sorted many acorns by kind. (くぬぎ、しい、など)

Throughout the week, the children continued to learn about many kinds of occupations. The pizza shop was open almost every day, and additionally, this week a hair salon was opened because one of our students brought her toy makeup set in the morning. We applied makeup onto paper faces, and then cut and put hair ties on yarn hair. For the younger students, it was difficult to cut the yarn hair but they did not give up and kept cutting for a long time. On Friday, we opened a real pizza shop and cooked our own pizza. We spread tomato sauce on the crust and chose toppings (cheese, green pepper, and sausage). Everyone ate a lot!
