We have completed our four-week AKIS Spring Program 2025. Thank you very much for joining our program! During the last week of our Spring Program 2025, we enjoyed the spring breeze and cherry blossoms. We went to the local park on Monday for our “Hanami Picnic” with handmade onigiri. The students put rice into a glass jar to make perfectly round onigiri. They chose their favorite “furikake” (flavor-sprinkles), and their favorite furikake was bonito furikake (“okaka”)!

We spread a big picnic sheet at the park and ate our picnic lunch all together. The children enjoyed viewing the beautiful cherry blossoms and feeling the nice breeze! We were amazed how well all the students ate lunch on the picnic mat without dropping much food. However, a few pigeons stopped by for some lunch so some of our students tried to shoo them away.

Some students brought their teddy bears to school this week, so we had a picnic with our teddy bears in the classroom, too. We danced with them, and ate lunch and a snack with them, too. The younger students made their own teddy bears with paper bags, and the older students made teddy bears with yarn and towels.
